Cosmochemistry & Geochemistry

Dr. Naoko Takahashi is a geochemist whose interests include understanding fluid behaviors and fluid-mineral/rock interactions and their role in the evolution of the Earth's crust and upper mantle. She uses field observations and high-pressure, high-temperature experiments to investigate the physical and chemical properties of fluids. At EPL, Takahashi will collaborate with Staff Scientist Bjorn Mysen and focus on studying the structure and properties of sub- and supercritical fluids using a diamond anvil cell and in-situ vibrational spectroscopy.
