2020 Year in Review
It's an understatement to say that this year threw us all a curveball with COVID-19, yet still, the newly merged Earth and Planets Laboratory continued to push the frontier of human knowledge despite having to cancel field trips and learn to work from home.
This year, we climbed volcanoes (pre-COVID), created "superdiamonds", discovered exoplanets, and uncovered more of the early histories of the Earth and our Solar System. In summary, we've published 235 papers in 81 journals; we hosted a virtual datathon, two ChExo conferences, and more than 30 seminars; and we presented and recorded two free Neighborhood Lectures for our growing virtual community.
Thank you to everyone who kept us going strong this year, from staff to supporters. We invite you to click through the below 2020 timeline to see explore our work this year.
