Are you an undergraduate student interested in cutting-edge scientific research? Are you looking for a science REU program in the Washington, DC area? Look no further!

The Earth and Planetary Science Interdisciplinary Internship at Carnegie Science (EPIIC) is a full-time, paid 10-week research internship and professional development program at the EPL campus in Washington, DC. This year, our internship a part of the National Science Foundation's Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program.

As a division of the Carnegie Institution for Science, EPL conducts investigations in a variety of disciplines including astronomy, geochemistry, geophysics, material science, and planetary science. 

Not only will you have the opportunity to participate in authentic, collaborative scientific research, but you will also have access to a professional development program covering important topics such as scientific programming, presenting at conferences, effective science communication, building a positive identity as a scientist and career opportunities in STEM. Additionally, you will have the chance to join in departmental intellectual activities, including reading groups and seminars, and take part in the social and cultural activities of the department and the vibrant city in which we are situated.
