Are you an undergraduate student interested in cutting-edge scientific research? Look no further! The Carnegie Earth and Planets Laboratory (EPL) Summer Undergraduate Research Internship is offering a 10-week, full-time, paid research internship and professional development program in Washington, DC. As a division of the Carnegie Institution for Science, EPL conducts investigations in a variety of disciplines including astronomy, geochemistry, geophysics, material science, and planetary science. Our internship is designed for a diverse cohort of 6-8 students from local DMV-area colleges and universities.

Not only will you have the opportunity to participate in authentic, collaborative scientific research, but you will also have access to a professional development program covering important topics such as scientific programming, presenting at conferences, effective science communication, building a positive identity as a scientist and career opportunities in STEM. Additionally, you will have the chance to join in departmental intellectual activities, including reading groups and seminars, and take part in the social and cultural activities of the department and the vibrant city in which we are situated.
